BTEC LEVEL 3 CLOSE PROTECTION OPERATIVE

Course Content

At PHIRST Training we adhere to the SIA core competency as a structural base for the current training qualification. However, we are aware that as an operational company, clients may require a greater degree of knowledge other than the 150 guided learning hours

Subjects covered during our courses include:

• Duties of a bodyguard
• Team positions
• Solo close protection duties (IBG)
• In depth geographical reconnaissance (covert /overt)
• Risk analysis (continuity planning)
• Operational planning, (secure briefings and de briefs)
• Intelligence gathering
• Map work and route selection (re grid of maps etc)
• Search techniques vehicle, building
• Surveillance awareness; to include
• Cover stories live operations Decoy tactics live operations
• Props teams live operations
• Covert operations Ops , coded radio transmissions
• Surveillance legislation directed surveillance authority , Ripa etc ,
• Directed surveillance authority, practical applications govt bodies etc
• Unarmed combat training detailed protective duty applications developed by our chief Instructor
• Situational awareness (defendable areas contact drills)
• Improvised weapons (instant arming etc)
• Kubotan training (developed over 15 years by our chief instructor)
• Weapon disarm tactics ( knife , pistol ,etc)
• Combat handcuff tactics (rigid cuffing) armed , unarmed
• Baton training ( asp, ppct, side handled)
